Restaurant Style Chicken 65

A crispy, deep fried appetiser flavoured with curry leaves, it was invented in Chennai’s famous Buhari restaurant and has since become famous all around India as a popular starter .The vibrant red color of this dish makes it a spicy and beautiful dish to serve.The beauty of the recipe is that its crispy on the crust but the chicken remains soft yet juicy within. Today, I present you the classic and simple recipe of chicken 65. Try it out and enjoy this easy chicken treat.



Ingredients:
For Chicken Fry:
Chicken (Boneless Thigh meat)
2 lbs
Egg
1 Beaten
Cornflour                                                                          
2 tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste
1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp
Turmeric Powder
 ½ tsp

To Sauce:
Onion
1 Big one
Garlic Pods
4
Green Chillies
3
Ginger Garlic Paste
1 tbsp
Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp
Turmeric Powder
½ tsp
Cumin Powder
1 tsp
Red Chilli Paste
2 tbsp
Red Food Color
A Pinch(Optional)
Curry Leaves
Few
Oil
2 tbsp



Steps:
For Frying:

  • Take a bowl and add Corn flour, Egg,Chilli powder, ginger and garlic paste, and salt mix into a thick batter.


  • Add chicken pieces to the batter and marinate for one hour.

  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan shallow fry the chicken on both side till get cooked Drain on kitchen towel..

To make the Sauce:
  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in a frying pan add chopped garlic fry for 2 sec then add finely chopped onions sauté well till onions turns pink.
  • Then add curry leaves,chopped green chillies sauté for 2 sec then add ginger garlic paste sauté for 1 mins,then add chilli paste sauté well for 1 min.

  • Add chilli powder,turmeric powder,cumin powder and salt sauté well for 2 mins then add food color and little water mix well for 2 sec then add fried chicken pieces toss well and cook for 2 mins .


  • Stir in the coriander leaves and serve hot.
