Chicken Tikka | Grilled Chicken Tikka

Chicken Tikka is an easy-to-cook dish in which chicken chunks are marinated in special spices and then grilled on skewers.The word Tikka means bits, pieces or chunks.This is one of India's most popular dishes.For vegetarian alternative click here for Panner Tikka.

Ingredients :


Chicken thighs or breasts, cut into 2.5cm chunks
250 gms
Ginger Garlic Paste
1 tbsp
kashmiri red chili powder
3 tsp
Coriander Powder
1 tsp
Hung Curd or Thick curd
½ cup
Turmeric Powder
A pinch
Garam Masala
1 tsp
Orange Food color(Optional)
A pinch
Kasoori Methi(optional) Crushed
1 tsp
Lemon Juice
1 tbsp
Salt
As Needed
Oil
For Brusing


Steps :

  • In a mixing bowl add hung curd,ginger-garlic paste,salt,lemon juice and all other spices turmeric powder,red chilli powder,coriander powder,gram masala and kasoori methi,mix together well.


  • Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl, coat them with the marinade and leave in the fridge for at least 8 hours, or overnight.

  • Pre-heat the oven at 180c or Gas Mark 5. Line a tray with aluminum foil and keep it aside.
  • Arrange the chicken in a backing tray or wire racks brush with oil and bake for 20 mins or till gets cooked.Turning the chicken in-between for even cooking.

  • Serve hot with mint chutney/dip.
