Masala Dosa | South Indian Breakfast Recipes

Hi Readers.. Hope you are all doing good. In my house broadband connection was broken and so I was cut down from online world for the last 2 weeks. Very boring :( Nowadays broadband also became like essential things like electricity  water & Gas.. Are we getting addicted to internet..Don't know :) Lets move to the recipe.

Masala dosa is the classic and comforting breakfast among all south Indian families.it is one of the top ten tasty foods of the world.A masala dosa is made by stuffing a dosa with a lightly cooked filling of potatoes, fried onions and spices. The dosa is wrapped around an onion and potato curry or sabji.It can be served along with Sambar, Coconut Chutney. So let us start preparing Masala Dosa.




Ingredients :

Dosa Batter
2 cup
Potato
4 medium size
Onion
1
Green chillies
4
Ginger
½ inch finely chopped
Turmeric Powder
A pinch
Salt
As needed
Mustard seeds
¾ tsp
Cumin seeds
½ tsp
Channa dal
1 tsp
Urad dal
1 tsp
Cashew nuts
4
Curry Leaves
1 sprig
Oil
1 tbsp




Steps:

  • Pressure cook the potatoes with cup of water for 3 whistles. Peel off the skin and mash it well.

  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds when it splutters add cumin seeds,channa dal urad dal,cashews and curry leaves,fry for 2 sec or till cashews slightly golden.
  • Then add finely chopped onions,ginger and green chillies,fry well till onions turns transparent.

  • Add mashed potatoes,turmeric powder and salt sauté well for 2 mins then add ¼ cup water mix well and cook for 5 mins or till water dries up.

  • Heat a non stick tawa on a medium flame, when it is hot pour tha laddle of batter and spread in a circular motion to make thin dosa.Sprinkle some oil,when its cooked place the prepared masala evely over the dosa and cook for another 2 secs,then fold the dosa into half and close the masala filling...

  • Serve hot with sambar and coconut chutney or any of ur fav sides..

  17. I use to eat south indian dishes a lot. I like Masala Dosa prepared at home with Sambar, Coconut Chutney. I also use spicy ingredients as per taste. This is looking tempting one of the renowned Indian Recipes around the world.
