Veg Delight Pizza

Priya & team initiated Home Bakers challenge. This is to encourage all the bloggers and Non-bloggers to try baking Dishes..For this month's HBC's challenge Divya picked Pizza for this month.. I am very happy to be a part of this team.



Pizza is a cleverly marketed dish in the world. Pizza penetrated all corners of the world and now its even came to our blogs. I tried Pizza first time and it came really well. I think only after some more attempts I can get the consistency in taste. Here is my edition of the pizza :)


Ingredients :

For the Pizza Dough :

All Purpose Flour
2 ¾ cup
Active yeast
1 packet(7 gms)
Corn Meal
For dusting(2 tbsp)
Olive Oil
4 tbsp
Fresh mozzarella cheese
12 ounces
Warm water
1 cup
Salt
1 tsp
Sugar
¼ tsp

For the sauce :

Ripe Tomatoes
4(Medium size)
Green Capsicum (Bell Pepper)
1
Garlic Cloves
1
Olive Oil
2 tbsp
Fennel Powder
½ tsp
Salt
As Needed
Sugar
½ tsp
Mixed Herbs
1 tsp

Toppings :

Capsicum
½ sliced
Jalapeno
¼ cup
Olives
2 tbsp
Onion
½ sliced
Cheese
As needed


Steps :
For the Dough :

  1. Pour warm water into a small bowl. Add sugar, and yeast,stir the mixture until yeast is dissolved and water has turned a tan color. Let yeast stand until foamy, about 10 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl add flour and salt mix well thoroughly. Then add 1 tbsp olive oil and yeast mixture,mix together to make a soft dough add more flour if needed.
  3. Turn the dough out on to a floured work surface and knead for about five minutes, until smooth and elastic. Transfer to a clean bowl, cover with a damp tea towel or plastic wrap and leave to rise for about 1½ hours, until doubled in size. Meanwhile prepare the tomato sauce.

For the Sauce :

  1. Peel the skin of two tomatoes and chop it finely and keep aside.
  2. Make the tomato puree using 2 tomatoes and keep it ready.
  3. In a non-stick pan add olive oil once hot add finely chopped garlic fry for 2 mins then add finely chopped capsicum fry for 2 mins.
  4. Then add chopped tomatoes and tomato puree cook for 5 mins in a medium flame.Add salt and sugar cover and cook till it gets cooked and oil seprates.
  5. Then add fennel powder mix well then add the herbs cook for five mins. Once it reach the right consistency switch off the flame.

How to make Veg Delight Pizza :

  1. Preheat the oven to 500 F / Gas Mark 7.
  2. Once dough has raisen,now remove the dough to a flour-dusted surface and knead it around a bit to push the air out with your hand.
  3. Using your fingers, begin to flatten and push the dough evenly out from the center until it measures about 7 to 8 inches in diameter. Do not press the dough all the way to the edges.Leave a slightly raised border, about a half-inch wide, around entire circumference of pizza dough.
  4. Once Done arrange the pizza into cornmeal-dusted baking pizza pan. Then spread the pizza sauce evenly onto the dough. Arrange the mozzarella slices on top of the sauce and arrange sliced capsicum,olives,jalpeano,corn and sliced onions.Then sprinkle shredded cheese all around,lightly brush the edges with olive oil and bake it for 15- 20 minutes or until bottom turns light golden brown and cheese melted.
  5. Once done remove from the oven,  slice them in to pieces and serve immediately.
