Methi Paratha

Methi Paratha is a famous Punjabi breakfast dish.  My friend sheetal introduced this dish to me during my college days. This is a very tasty dish and I am sure kids will love this one. Whenever I see fresh methi in grocery store, my mind will think about preparing methi paratha. I thank sheetal for introducing this wonderful dish to me :)

Ingredients :

Wheat Flour
1 Cup
Fenugreek / Methi Leaves
½ cup
Turmeric Powder
1 tsp
Chilli Powder
2 tsp
As Needed
Cumin / Jeera Seeds
1 tsp
1 tsp

Steps :

  1. Wash and drain the Methi leaves completely..
  2. Chop the leaves finely and keep it aside.
  3. In a bowl add flour,chopped leaves,turmeric powder,chilli powder,cumin seeds,salt and oil mix well.
  4. Add water and make a smooth dough keep it close for 15 mins.
  5. Then make a small balls and roll the dough balls into medium size paratas.
  6. Heat a tawa and and put the rolled out paratas on it and cook for a minute.
  7. When bubbles start appearing, flip it over to the other side. Let the other side also get cooked.
  8. Serve hot with raitas are any side dish of your choice.
