Tomato Coconut Chutney

In my house, I like Tomato chutney and my hubby likes Coconut chutney.. Normally I prepare both chutney's.. Sometimes when I am tired, always dilemma between what to cook.. So I planned to try mixed chutney.. The result was amazing :) Another simple dish.. Don't forget to log your comments..




Ingredients:


Tomatoes - 3
Grated coconut  - 1/4 cup
Onion - 1
Red Chillies - 5(Depending on the Spice)
Salt - A pinch(As per taste)
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Oil - 3 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Channa Dal - 1 tsp
Urad Dal - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - Few
Hing - a pinch

Method:

  1. Heat oil in Pan, add mustard seeds it splutters add cumin seeds, channa dal, urad dal, hing and curry leaves.
  2. Add the chopped onion fry till golden brown then add red chillies ,turmeric powder.
  3. Add the finely chopped tomatoes and sprinkle the salt,fry for 7-8 minutes on medium-low. When they are mushy add grated coconut and mix well for 2 mins.
  4. Allow it to cool the mixture when it cools grind it in mixer. enjoy with Idly/Dosa..l
