Are you running out of time to prepare breakfast?.. Are your kids making hunger sounds.. Are you bored with dishes like Noodles, corn flakes and Oats.. Here is the Quick fix :) Poha is the answer!...

Poha preparation takes less than 10 mins and just requires common kitchen ingredients..
Prep time - under 5 mins
Cook time - under 10 mins

Ingredients needed

Poha (Aval)- 1 cup
Onion - 1
Green chilli -3 split into 2
Ginger - 1 inch finely chopped
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
Oil -1 tbsp

For the seasoning

Mustard - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds/jeera - 3/4 tsp
chana dal - 1 tsp
urad dal - 1 tsp
Hing - pinch
Roasted peanuts - 2 tbsp
Curry leaves - few


  1. Wash the poha and soak in water. The water level should be just enough to immerse,so don’t add more than that.
  2. After 5-10 mins,the poha(aval) should have absorbed all the water.
  3. Heat the oil in kadai add the ingredents under seasoning.
  4. Add the thinly sliced onion stir for few mins till it turns light brown then add green chillies and turmeric powder stir it for 2 mins
  5. Add the aval and mix well stir for 2 mins in low flame
  6. At-last squeeze a few drops of lemon juice mix well..Garnish some corainder leaves for decoration...
